Frequently Asked Questions
1. What age groups are these resources designed for?
Our resources are designed for educators working with children in early learning (ages 3–5) and primary school (Foundation – Grade 6). Each resource supports both educators and children by providing age-appropriate activities, curriculum links, and cultural context.
2. Are these resources aligned with the Australian Curriculum?
Yes. All our resources connect to the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and the Australian Curriculum, especially the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority.
3. What’s the difference between Boonwurrung and Bunurong?
They are different spellings of the same word recorded in early colonial documents, missionary records, and government archives. There are over 60 historical spellings, including Bunurong, Boonerwrung, Bunwurrung, and Boonwerung. Today, Boonwurrung is the widely accepted spelling, following guidance from the Victorian Aboriginal Corporation for Languages (VACL). This version better reflects the original pronunciation, where the vowel sound is closer to “oo” rather than “u” or “un,” and helps avoid mispronunciations introduced through colonial transcription (Clark 1996; Blake 1991).
